Discover Morocco’s captivating beauty with our private 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. This carefully crafted itinerary guides you through a diverse tapestry of Moroccan landscapes and cultural treasures. Journey from the vibrant city of Marrakech to the majestic Sahara Desert dunes of Merzouga, traversing historic Kasbahs and authentic local villages, for an immersive exploration of Morocco’s unique sights and flavors.
The 3-day tour will begin in Marrakech, heading towards Merzouga via the Dades Valley and the High Atlas Mountains. There will be occasional stops to take in the scenic views and Berber villages, including the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This Kasbah has been featured in over 20 international films and is recognized as a significant fort along the ancient Salt Road, where caravans transported commodities such as gold, ivory, salt, and silk to Marrakech and other locations. After passing through Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa for its film industry, the tour will proceed through Skoura and Kalaat M’gouna ( rose town), where visitors can experience the rose valley and various products derived from roses. The journey will continue to Dades Valley, home to several Berber villages, where overnight accommodations will be provided.
After breakfast, the tour continues to the Sahara Desert, passing through Berber villages and the scenic landscapes of Todra Gorges, Tinjdad, and Tinghir. There will be stops for photographs and to observe the views. We will start with a visit to Todra Gorges, to walk through the canyon. The next stop is in Erfoud, a town noted for its fossil mining. The trip then proceeds to Merzouga. Upon arrival at the camel area, a camel trek will take you to the sunset view before continuing to the luxury camp situated among the sand dunes. The evening includes dinner accompanied by traditional Berber music. The night will be at the camp.
On the final day of your three-day desert tour from Marrakech, an early rise will greet you with the stunning sight of the sun rising over the dunes. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, the trip will lead you once more through the enchanting Draa Valley, starting from Rissani, to visit the traditional market (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday), which is known for the intricate Moroccan architecture of its palaces and gates. Continuing on this adventure, you will travel through Nkob and Agdz before making your way back to the familiar town of Ouarzazate. A lunch stop at a local restaurant will be offered before the return trip through the majestic Atlas Mountains and back to Marrakech. We will terminate the 3-day tour by dropping you off at your hotel.
This was our first time in Morocco. People we know recommended to travel and get to know Morocco with this company, and we couldn’t be happier and more satisfied. Our trip started in Marrakech to get to the desert of Merzouga and back to Marrakech. We have seen and visited a lot of places on this trip and we have lived an unforgettable experience while we have enjoyed and learned about their culture and traditions.
I would definitely recommend this service to anyone, I am sure you will enjoy it and leave as happy as we are!
My friends and I just returned from a customized 3-day Morocco tour from Marrakech. It was such an amazing experience. We stayed in gorgeous riads inside the Medinas, beautiful hotels, and even an amazing overnight in a Luxury camp. The staff were all superb, and they took care of us well. The beauty of Morocco comes not only from the beautiful cities and landscapes but especially the people. You will be treated like family.
What made the trip extra exceptional was our guide Hassan, who was Funny, knowledgeable, and flexible.
